Video producer's note: To some, it may seem like Caltech professor Frances Arnold is playing God. But to hear her say it, she is improving upon what nature started and solving some real-world issues in the process.
CNN caught up with the presidentially honored professor at her Caltech lab. In the video above she explains just how her theory and process of "directed evolution" works - and what problems her research could help solve.
Do you think "directed evolution" is overstepping the bounds of science? Let us know in the comments.
Dang hippies.
Stupid scientists and their crap.

Evolution is gay.
Evolution, just like human 'spaceflight' (and the heliocentric myth), is fake... The full exposure of said fakery is part of the Fall of Babylon (confusion) as biblical prophecy proclaims. God alone is Creator, and mankind's 'science so called' is a faker....

I love crazy people. Please tells us more.
Sure....
Once upon a time I visited an asylum. When walking through the corridors I noticed a large gentleman observing a patient through a view window in a steel door. I went up to this black dude, who was about six-five, two-seventy, looked through the window and asked; "Gee whizz bro, who do you have strapped-down in this padded room staring up at that mobile, soiling themselves and foaming about the mouth?" And he replied; "Oh, a formal earth and planetary NASA scientist. They tend to go bananas when they learn that the 'space race' was nothing but a scientific soap opera designed to turn these space monkeys into evolutionary pawns – especially since there's no way in hell that a capsule could ever survive hypersonic reentry without vaporizing like a meteor. And not to mention that a 'special plastic' heat shield is a laughing stock.... The colorful spiraling mobile reminds them of fake Hubble pictures of the 'big bang', so it tends to calm them down...."
Great post Buck Rogers – one of the best ever.
@Buck I don't know about that. I'm going to ask my Dad, George Jetson, if that is true or not. Did you know he knows the man in the moon personally? Try to beat that! Oh, and my dad is not gay, either, but he is the happiest guy around.
